The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, commonly known as the United Kingdom (UK) and Britain, is a sovereign state located off the north-western coast of continental Europe. If you need to apply for a UK passport or VISA, passport photos are required.
- 45 millimetres (mm) high x 35 millimetres (mm) wide (please do not trim your photographs to meet this condition);
- taken against an off-white, cream or light grey plain background so that your features are clearly distinguishable against the background;
- printed on low-gloss, plain white photo-quality paper (with no watermarks, embossing or printing on the back);

To make your own UK passport photo, go to 123PassportPhoto home page, and select United Kingdom from the country list. The radio button “Passport 45 x 35 mm (Requirements)” should be automatically shown and selected.
Click the Start button to go to the Upload Photo page. You can select a photo from your computer or from the web. After select a photo, click the Next button. The upload process should should start and a progress bar should show that your photo is being uploaded. When the upload is complete, you will be directed to the cropper page automatically.
In the cropper page, use mouse or arrow keys on the keyboard to move and re-size the selection box to make sure the top of head and chin are fit exactly into the two blue guide bars. The click the Next button.
The Enhancement page should show 6 enhanced photos that you can choose from. Choose the best one in which the face part is not overexposed and the background is white or almost white. Then click the Next button.
In the Save Photos page, there will preview image showing 8 passport photos on a 4R sheet. Click the Save Photo button to save the photo into your computer. Then open the photo from your computer and print it on 4×6″ low-gloss, plain white photo paper. Cut the photo along the gray lines, you will be 8 UK passport photos.
